It's September, which means the countdown begins till Shetland Wool Week!
I have fond memories of my experiences at Shetland Wool Week. I'm reminiscing the lovely mix of craft and landscape and creativity and collaboration.
According to their website, www.shetlandwoolweek.com, “Shetland Wool Week is a world renowned celebration of Britain’s most northerly native sheep, the Shetland textile industry and the rural farming community on these islands. Shetland wool is a world class natural fibre, with a long standing reputation for quality, strength and excellence from the fleece to the textile products.”
Yep, I agree with this! Shetland (the place and the people and the wool) is very close to my heart.
If you've not yet experienced Shetland Wool Week, I encourage you to do so.
But, plan ahead! Perhaps a year ahead. Securing accommodation in Shetland is not easy. Good luck, and happy knitting!
